3  New Feature Requests / User Requests / Re: 'strings' for bass players on: March 01, 2013, 03:02:57 AM
I wonder if that would "deaden" the response ?  Also wonder if there is a size of heat shrink tubing one could experiment with? Smiley
4  New Feature Requests / User Requests / Re: palm muting solved! (not really but maybe) on: February 27, 2013, 03:25:50 AM
gnuyu2-gotcha, that's even better-assign any sound you want-brain cells working!! note-the adapted "foil tape" palm adaptation I can up with quite a while ago (& posted) is still working great.
5  Compatible (third party) Software Listing / USER Posts for Software Listings / Re: Can YRG work with Native instruments Guitar Rig, anybody know? on: February 25, 2013, 03:27:00 AM
On tracjk there gnuyu2- I also look at is as a "MIDI INPUT DEVICE" first,  a guitar second-kinda gives you a different perpective.
6  New Feature Requests / User Requests / Re: palm muting solved! (not really but maybe) on: February 25, 2013, 03:22:52 AM
HMMMM-good idea. I think now,if I'm not mistaken, the "palming" sends a note off,or other stop message. If so, it would be nice to hear the familiar "thump" of a palmed guitar from a trigger you described as an alternative. Smiley (could be wrong, but chime in)
7  General Discussion / General Discussion Area / Re: Five questions about current YRG model on: February 12, 2013, 03:12:14 AM
Thought on 2-handed instrument-Since you've now split the fretboard into essentially 2 different instruments, ,I can see where that would be possible and one should not intrefere with the other.  Very cool
8  New Feature Requests / User Requests / Re: CATEGORY FOR MODS TWEAKS AND CRAZY IDEAS on: February 06, 2013, 03:54:45 AM

9  New Feature Requests / User Requests / Re: CATEGORY FOR MODS TWEAKS AND CRAZY IDEAS on: February 05, 2013, 02:03:58 AM
Very Nice, thank you. Question-will the current "mod" posts be "reshuffled" for the most part under the new heading, or should thos of us who have posted valuable "mods"  save the txt from our posts so we could "re-post" them under the new heading?  Undecided  thanks

Is it compatable with Gen 1 ? Wink
11  String Sensitivity - Adjusting / String sensitivity can be adjusted on several levels, here are some tips / Re: string gain vs. trigger sensitivity? on: February 02, 2013, 03:54:41 AM
gstik hit on a very good point, and you are discovering the YRG is its own animal and takes a bit more concetration. However, for me, that has yielded making me a better, more precise player, which transfers over to regular guitar in ways I can actually hear. Can't lose on that point!!  Smiley
12  String Sensitivity - Adjusting / String sensitivity can be adjusted on several levels, here are some tips / Re: string gain vs. trigger sensitivity? on: February 01, 2013, 03:50:00 AM
Someone correct me if I'm off base, but string gain is volume and sensitivity is the pickups reaction to the movement of the string. the strings (and/or pickups) all react, by nature, a bit differently. the strings, of coarse, could vibrate at different fequencies depending on thier tension. I believe the idea is to balance between the two functions to compensate for these differences. the pickup on one string might supply a hotter or colder signal because of the mechanical differences, requiring a volume adjusment (gain). a pickup might be more or less sensitive to vibration, requiring an adjustment of sensitivity.  Then it's tweak,teak,tweak........a delicate balance between the two untill you are happy  Smiley  at least that process worked for me.
13  New Feature Requests / User Requests / Re: Custom Guitar Top & Template on: January 31, 2013, 04:06:37 AM
MountainSufi-Cool idea, especially the wood finish- you could even use "contact paper" (shelf liner) as a skin, they have lots of patterns. A template would be great!!  Ditto this idea!!! Smiley
14  General Discussion / General Discussion Area / Re: first thoughts: fretboard radius/sensitivity/jacks/opens on: January 30, 2013, 03:43:56 AM
Hi- as you get along with adjustments, I think you'll find the string tension adjustment is that which will affect the playability most. Lots of tweaking, but in the end, I feel it's the most "player adjustable" option to suite individual style.  There are also some various mods that can be done to the mute system on other posts in the forum. (I posted one that works great for me). I do agree about the jack placement-seems just to be in the way. Also neck radius-and size, have been discussed. Thanks for your observations, collectively our voices are heard Smiley
15  MIDI / MIDI Info, Help & Tips / Re: firmware mod suggestion : full neck polyphony on: January 24, 2013, 03:45:33 AM
renega-you've hit on my thoughts, too. Perhaps a great "electronic" feat and very interesting, but the practicality is a little strange. (not saying some people better at guitar than I would not love it). But being a guitar and keyboard player, I would think the difficulty of trying to learn to "play" that type of "new" instrument, which it would be because any reference to how a guitar works is now gone, you might as well learn to play keyboards.  Undecided
