String Sensitivity - Adjusting / String sensitivity can be adjusted on several levels, here are some tips / Re: string gain vs. trigger sensitivity?

Someone correct me if I'm off base, but string gain is volume and sensitivity is the pickups reaction to the movement of the string. the strings (and/or pickups) all react, by nature, a bit differently. the strings, of coarse, could vibrate at different fequencies depending on thier tension. I believe the idea is to balance between the two functions to compensate for these differences. the pickup on one string might supply a hotter or colder signal because of the mechanical differences, requiring a volume adjusment (gain). a pickup might be more or less sensitive to vibration, requiring an adjustment of sensitivity. Then it's tweak,teak,tweak........a delicate balance between the two untill you are happy at least that process worked for me.

Hi- as you get along with adjustments, I think you'll find the string tension adjustment is that which will affect the playability most. Lots of tweaking, but in the end, I feel it's the most "player adjustable" option to suite individual style. There are also some various mods that can be done to the mute system on other posts in the forum. (I posted one that works great for me). I do agree about the jack placement-seems just to be in the way. Also neck radius-and size, have been discussed. Thanks for your observations, collectively our voices are heard

renega-you've hit on my thoughts, too. Perhaps a great "electronic" feat and very interesting, but the practicality is a little strange. (not saying some people better at guitar than I would not love it). But being a guitar and keyboard player, I would think the difficulty of trying to learn to "play" that type of "new" instrument, which it would be because any reference to how a guitar works is now gone, you might as well learn to play keyboards.
