Pianos and Organs?

I have an old original YRG and haven't updated lately but as far as I know, I have only guitar samples in my YRG--which I find silly-sounding and useless. Was there some magic update that happened in the last year which added pianos, organs and drum loops into the YRG preset sounds memory?

Or conversely, is there a YRG II that ships with these tones and the original can't be upgraded?

Hi-here is a listing of internal instruments with the most recent software. I don't see why you could not update your old unit, but don't know for shure. (in other words, don't try it without confirmation from yourock, or it might jiggle your firmware, making the yrg virtually useless if not completed succesfully!!!)

Thanks, Bob! From what you're saying, it must've been a subsequent firmware upgrade that included all those sounds since I have none of them in my current tone set excepting the guitar tones. I too mainly use the YRG as a midi controller into my PC, but it would be awesome to pull out a "piano" or an "organ" on a gig!

I use my YRG via iRig Midi to use piano and organ sounds in Garaeband and Sampletank both on my Mac and iPhone and also i know Reason will work with the YRG and they have a GREAT Abbey Roads Keys Refill that is to die for! I use mine with these programs all the time. I know you are looking for internal sounds but if you have an iDevice then you would just need the iRig midi and you'd be in business! ~ SVH
