Hello,
I got my You Rock Guitar last week and I'm really, really enjoying it. However, I'm having an issue with the Metal Head tone and was wondering if anyone else was in the same boat. The first two strings work just fine -- great sustain and a terrific overall tone. But starting with the third string at about the 14th fret, when I play the notes there I get a very muted kind of "thump" sound instead of the crunchy sustained note I'm expecting, which happens for every successive note all the way to the 22nd fret. The same thing happens at about the 9th fret of the fourth string, and the bottom two strings are entirely this way. Is this an issue with the samples, the string tension, or something else? Is anybody other than me having this difficulty? Any idea on how to fix it? I'm running firmware version 1045 if that helps.
Thanks in advance for any observations you might have.
Mike

Haha, MINOR correction to Kevin's post above.
While this WAS deliberately written into the code originally, we had meant to update that particular soundset so that it continued with the grungey, distorted effect all the way up the neck. Apparently, this change was never written into the code. I've brought it up with Doug, and we're going to change this ASAP. Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention; we'll have an update for you as soon as we can.

So what exactly is the library? and how do I download then install things on the YRG? May sound like a newb question, but my guitar was updated when I got it, but for future firmware updates...

Library consists of all the audio files: - 25 guitars - 50 synths - 25 tracks + 50 drum loops ... something else I am forgetting? We will provide a link to the download tool when the code is ready

Kent, Max--
Thanks for the quick reply! I'm glad to know this isn't a problem with my hardware. I can definitely see a use for the muted samples in a sound set of their own, but definitely want the Metal Head tone to be consistent from top to bottom. Regarding the new sampled guitars we can download, how much will those cost and approximately when do you see those being made available?

GarageBand's GrandPiano sounds great with You Rock Guitar. I can play things I could never play in an actual piano. It would be nice if a future release of Firmware had some voices other than the current 25 guitar presets.

For instance on Yamaha's EZ-EG, they include a half-decent acoustic piano sample in their internal tones, and you can play it through your guitar amp live and it sounds quite cool.

I believe it was mentioned that we'd be able to purchase additional sounds later for a few bucks. Nice if they come out with something we have to have.

An acoustic piano, a Wurlitzer piano and a B3 would be awesome.

Hi Everyone. The You Rock Guitar has 50 Synth Sounds. 9 are keyboards. I transpose them down to give them more bottom. Happy You Rock Guitar Timothy Kelly MidiVox

Is there an ETA on the free guitars/loops/sounds that were inducements for registering our product?

It is nice to know about the future release of a library manager. This will be indeed a very nice tool.
