How do I erase a recorded performance?- Select the Preset where your recorded performance has been saved, then press and hold the RECORD(.) button for 3 seconds. The other buttons on the display panel should 'flash' signifying that the recorded performance has been successfully erased.

What is the purpose of the joystick/paddle by the volume button?- While in game mode, it acts as a joystick controller.
- In guitar mode, it sends out MIDI modulation information. It will also modulate the built in sounds if you have firmware revision v 1.045 or greater. The speed and depth of the modulation can be set via the PC Control Panel (included in the Updater App) or via Sub-Menu 4 on the guitar itself (options PS & Pd - firmware revision v 1.132 or greater).

What kind of modulation do you get with the MIDI signal?- The YRG sends a standard, MIDI- modulation controller message, so it depends on the configuration of your synth or sound module.

What do I do if my strings are too tight?- The tension on the strings can be adjusted. Some people like them a little looser. Some people say it feels even more sensitive with the strings being slightly looser Use a phillips screwdriver to loosen the strings at the back of the tailpiece. Start with no more than 1/4 turn.
- DO NOT REMOVE THE SCREWS, DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.

How do I adjust an individual string's sensitivity?- As of firmware revision v 1.132, a series of sub-menus have been implemented that give direct access to Control Panel features. One of these menus allows you to adjust the sensitivity of each string to plucking. To do so, access sub-menu 5 by holding down MUSIC and pressing PLAY five times. Use the UP(^)/DOWN(v) buttons to navigate to the parameter for String Gain (SG will be shown on the LED display). The orange string LEDs should be flashing. The display will cycle through each string (indicated by a single solid-on string LED). The number that alternates on the LED display is the String Gain for that string. Use Fret Select to set the gain by pressing fret 1 - 10 on the string you wish to adjust (1 = lowest gain/sensitivity, 10 = highest gain/sensitivity).
- Warning, setting the String Gain too low, can lead to missed notes, but setting it too high, can cause false triggers.
- You can also set the overall Trigger Sensitivity (the input level at which a note is triggered). Navigate to sub-menu 5 (as directed above) and select the tS parameter. Now use Fret Select to set the Trigger Sensitivity (range is also 1 - 10). This is a global settings, applying to all string.
- Trigger Sensitivity does not override individual String Gain. The two settings are used together to determine what input level will trigger a note event.
- It is also possible to adjust these settings with the PC Control Panel (included in the Updater App).

Does You Rock Guitar have support for left-handed players?- Yes! As of firmware revision v 1.045, the YRG can be switched into left-handed mode via the PC Control Panel (included in the Updater App).
- As of firmware revision v 1.132, left-handed mode can be set directly from the guitar. While holding the MUSIC button, press the PLAY(>) button five times to access Sub-Menu 5 (GLObAL SEttinGS). Press the UP(^) or DOWN(v) buttons until the display shows “LH”. The display alternates to show “0”, the left-hand mode is disabled. “1” means it is active. To change the setting, tap any fret on the fingerboard. Press MUSIC again to exit the sub menu.

Using Fret Select, how do I select a value greater than 22 (since there are only 22 frets)?- Setting values beyond 22 with Fret Select is just a matter of moving to the next string.
Low-E = 1-22, A = 21-42, and so on...

How do I replace the strings? Can I use a standard guitar string?- No, you cannot replace the YRG strings with standard steel or nylon strings. The strings on the YRG are custom-made steel wire , and are intended to last the lifetime of the guitar.
- If you do somehow break a string, however, please submit a Support Ticket and we will replace your string ASAP.
- Please be sure to supply your YRG Serial Number (located inside the battery compartment) when contacting Tech Support.

Why doesn’t my guitar play well with Rockband or Guitar Hero?- Most likely, this is due to a calibration issue between your game system and your TV/monitor. Most Rockband and Guitar Hero games give you the option to sync your TV and system to account for the timing differences between different setups.
- Calibration is simple: on the main menu of the game, scroll to/select 'Options' or 'Settings'. There you should find an option referring to Calibration. Select that option, and follow the on-screen commands.

Why aren't the buttons on my YRG's control panel lighting-up/working?- There could be a number of issues:
- Try toggling the YRG's power button several times. Make sure that it is staying in the down position when pressed.
- If you are operating your YRG with batteries, try swapping them out with a fresh set.
- If your guitar is plugged in via USB, unplug the cable from BOTH the computer and the guitar. Toggle the power switch and plug the USB cable back in.
- If these steps to not resolve the issue, please submit a Support Ticket.

My guitar is on, but won't it produce any sound.- Are any of the buttons on the control panel lit/working?
- If not, check your batteries and/or USB cable.
- Is your YRG connected to some form of amplification (guitar amp, computer speakers, headphones, etc)?
- If you are using a guitar amp, be sure that you are plugged in via the GUITAR jack
- If you are using computer speakers, headphones, etc. make sure that you are plugged in to the jack labeled ‘AUDIO OUT’, and not ‘AUDIO IN’ on the bottom ot your YRG.
- Check the master and instrument volume levels:
- Master volume: Turn the volume knob clockwise, as far as it will go.
- Guitar volume: While holding the GUITAR button, turn the volume knob clockwise. The guitar volume level will be displayed on the LED panel.
- Synthvolume: While holding the SYNTH button, turn the volume knob clockwise. The synth volume level will be displayed on the LED panel.
- Track volume: While holding the TRACK button, turn the volume knob clockwise. The track volume level will be displayed on the LED panel.
- Make sure that either (or both) the GUITAR button and/or SYNTH button are lit.
