Hello there,  I just got my YRG, and i am going to use it for MIDI composing.  I am actually a bass player and I use mostly 6-string basses, tuned BEADGC.  I am able to retune and transpose everything to make the YRG imitate my 6-string, EXCEPT for the B string, which I am trying to tune to G so the instrument is all in 4ths.  For some reason, this is not being allowed.  Even though I am transposing an octave, maybe the individual tuning controls in the control panel displayed on my Mac are not doing their thing correctly?

Any input would be helpful!

Open tuning number 65 is BEADGC, added by Kevin after a lot of flak from me.  It is not, however, tuned down an octave as you will need for playing bass.

Luck,
James

Thanks, I will try that.  Will tuning 65 transpose properly like the others do?  If so then I am set!  BTW, I frickin' LOVE this device.  Grin  I am a Pro Tools Engineer, bassist, and educator on staff at the Los Angeles Recording School in Hollywood, and I have been wanting something like this for a very long time!

Hello James, or whoever replies,
I tried setting to tuning #65 and it doesn't alter the guitar tuning to all 4ths as I'd hoped it would.  Transposing down works, but also doesn't change the tuning to the way I'd like.  Sad

I also wanted to mention that I am using your newest control panel and firmware.

Incidentally, I really appreciate the quick responses.

I haven't been messing with mine lately [Christmas and all] but I just turned it on with it connected to my Yamaha MU-100.  I then pushed the "open" button then used the up-down arrows to go to tuning number 65.  The tuning is all diatonic fourths as you desire.  I personally prefer to refer to it as both up and down chromatic fifths.

If yours does not change the guitar's tuning to BEADGC  I'd suspect that you do not have the latest software update.  But then I'm just a midiot plunker; no kind of expert.

Luck,
James
