Hello, i just got my YRG 1000 today and it works great but it didn't come with any software.
Please can someone point me in the direction of the control panel software for a Apple Mac computer running OSX 10.4.11 because i would like to change the string sensitivity and make sure i have up to date firmware.

Thanks.

Hey there Ashdry1,

If you register on our main website ( yourockguitar.com ) you'll be able to find a "Docs and Firmware" section under the Community mouse over menu on our front page, that page has the download which you are looking for. The option won't be visible on the Community mouse over menu unless you're logged in. Keep in mind that your forum account will not work on that section of our site.

If you have any trouble, you can contact customer support or just post here again, though I might not catch a post here immediately.

I got the download thanks but when i run the software i get an error message; error connecting to guitar (midi driver failed).
I didn't install a midi driver so if that's available i will install it?
Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi-the YRG should be recognized by the control panel easily. Not being condescending-But make shure your YRG is  on (maybe fresh batteries?) and that it is plugged directly into a USB port. Sometimes if your using a USB "hub", the signal does not get re-transmitted properly, as with other devices. Smiley

Hey there,

Glad to hear you were able to at least get it downloaded!

Generally when we see the midi driver failed error, it has to do with having another application open which is consuming the midi port. If you have any programs open such as ableton, garageband, etc. that would be trying to use the YRG, make sure to close them.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, we would likely need to dig deeper and get information about your computer specifications.

Of course a temporary work around if you need it updated as fast as possible would be to simply update it on another computer if you have access to another MAC or PC.

Edit:

What bob said regarding USB hubs is also very valid. Having the guitar powered directly from a USB jack rather than through a chain of other USB devices is always recommended.

OK thanks for your help. I was running directly in to my mac USB port but i use a 3g internet dongle so maybe it's that that's stopping the midi driver or spannering the USB bus. I will try on my PC and update this post.

Thanks again.

Ash.
